New Business

 

1. Survey results: what will be done with the results, how is the staff going to be notified of the results? Results will be on SSD Life within a few weeks.

 

2. Stimulus money: Can Rich Carver bring data on how much money we will receive, what the money is being spent on and what were the guidelines for spending the money? We will receive $38 million over 2 years. 15% goes to Partner Districts to be used for early intervention. After payments to Partner District and Non-Public Schools we will have $17 million left.

 

3. When SSD changes it's board policies, how can the staff be informed about those changes. Mr. Cary will send out an e-mail notice to staff of changes.

 

4. Teacher budgets have been cut by 20% will any of that money be returned to the teachers to use at a later date? The District had a 10% decrease in commercial property tax which affected out budget. The budget will be looked at again to determine if any monies can be given back for supplies .

 

5. SSD Life is very hard to navigate, can anything be done about not having to sign in several times? Don Bohannon reported that the frequent sign in should be fixed by Oct.

 

Brentwood: Don Bohannon will check into the issues of Brentwood .

1. IEP's and diagnostics are being mandated to be held before and after school hours.

2. Teachers have been instructed that they will be on the curriculum writing committee and other District committees that meet until 5:00 p.m. They are required to be on building committee meeting also that meet 60-90 minutes each month. They were informed that none of these minutes can count toward their 42 hours.

3. Teachers had to attend a workshop in July which was a full day and were not paid.

4. New math curriculum adopted by Brentwood , but teacher manuals were not given to the teacher's

5. Sharing of voicemail on phones to the point that anyone who calls voicemail can hear the message that is left.

6. PA system not working in classroom, not able to hear when the buses are being called or announcements .

7. SSD meetings do not start till 30 minutes after school is out because one teacher cannot make the meeting till then. Can they count the 30 minutes that they wait towards their 42 hours. According to Don Bohannon staff can count the wait time from when teacher contracted time ends and the meeting starts.

 

Ferguson-Florissant: Mr. Cary will be speaking to the Director about the excessive paper work.

1. New Profile sheet and lesson plan sheet (4 th change in 4 years) to be implemented due by Aug 13 th .

2.McCluer North prep time is not to be spent with a CT teachers for a substantial amount of time.

3. Class-Student IEP goals spread sheet required by Aug 13 th . All this information is on Encore.

4. Required to have an agenda at each IEP meeting

 

Hazelwood: Don Bohannon will check in to the issues

1. Middle school and Elementary schools are not getting their planning times due to one requirement or another. High school is on block scheduling and is not receiving all of their planning time. They are getting 237 ½ minutes per week.

2. Hazelwood is requiring SSD teachers to do walk through during their planning and collaborative times.

 

Mehlville :

1. Teachers were told that everyone would be given a summative and have 5 observations this year. This is a little much!
