Hundreds of Missouri Educators were in Jefferson City on February 22, 2006 to
meet with their elected representatives and make their views known on matters
of public education.
There are several gimmicky solutions to education funding problems being proposed
in the legislature. Association representatives want our Missouri legislators to know
we expect REAL solutions, not gimmicks! The Governor's so-called "65% Solution",
TABOR, and Voucher schemes-dressed up like tuition tax credits- do nothing to address
the current $800 million funding shortfall for Missouri public schools.
Missourian's expect adequate funding and equitable distribution of those funds to
provide the quality education our Constitution requires.
